David Potter of Clarendon, Rutland County, Democrat, was born in Proctor, Vermont. Occupation: tree farmer and legislator. He was educated at Rutland High School, Rutland, Vermont; University of Vermont, Burlington, Vermont, BA, 1965; University of Southern California, Los Angeles, California, MS, 1973. He is the father of one daughter and one son with his late wife, Susan.
