Will Notte, House of Representatives, Rutland-7
Will Notte is the fifth generation of his family to call Rutland City home and is currently raising the sixth. Will served eleven years on the Rutland City Board of Aldermen, including two years as Board President; seven years on the Rutland Redevelopment Authority; and six years on the Rutland Free Library Board of Trustees. Will has served three terms as a State Representative for Rutland City and has sat on the House Judiciary Committee all three terms and on the Judicial Retention Committee for two terms. In the most recent biennium Will also served as a House Assistant Majority Leader.
Will originally ran for representative because after a decade serving in local government it was clear that many of the problems Rutland City is facing need to be addressed at the state level. One example of recent legislative action benefiting Rutland City is Act 127, which adjusted how education funding is calculated at the state level and brought additional support to our schoolchildren without that cost of doing so falling on city taxpayers.
